An Adventure Worth Remembering

Madami satin madalas gusto ng mga exciting adventures, yung extreme and challenging kasi mas naaalala natin. Well, kahit ako gustong gusto ang mga iyon. But i always wanted na hindi lang challenging but also fulfilling. Last May 24, 2014 i had my first ever mountain experience. You all know that im in wheelchair & kung iisipin mahirap talaga sya. Of course hindi ko na dinala ang wheelchair, what i did was sumakay sa isang motorcycle na tawag ay "habal-habal".

Aside from challenging because its literally tuktok na ng bundok, like 5 hours via motorcycle its also fulfilling because i together with other volunteers, we went there for a purpose. The said adventure was actually part of our advocacy project, the 4th Back to School Gift Giving Project, to give school supplies to children in need. When i heard about the story of San Pedro Elem. School Sta Maria Davao Occidental, that children were walking and kailangan pa nila dumaan sa 7 na river just to get to their school, sobrang akong naawa. Ako mismo naranasan ko kasi din ang hirap going to school & kahit sa kunting paraan mapasaya at mapagaan man lang ang loob ng mga batang ito, malaking bagay na yun para sakin.

There were around 150 school children who were waiting for us kaya naman rain or shine we have to get there. At talagang inabutan kami ng ulan. It's all worth it seeing the kids smiling when they received their new school bags and supplies.

We salute also to all the teachers who just like us have to get there to teach. The whole experience was worth remembering. Aside from the fun experience na makaakyat ng bundok at makita ang ganda ng tanawin, the most important thing was, we were able to make the kids smile.

Thank you Volunteers!!!
