SM Davao activates iButterflies

Last May 5, 2012, I was invited for a grand activation of an Augmented Reality  App based technology - The iButterfly. The said launch was held at SM city Davao - Annex and it was attended by some media people. iButterfly is an engaging and entertaining mobile information and couponing platform which tasks users with catching augmented reality butterflies. Each butterfly represents one or more coupons.

The said app actually originates in Japan and created by Japan's Mobile Art Lab and has been successfully launched in Japan, Hongkong, Indonesia, and Singapore. In the Philippines, it was first introduced by SM’s Cyberzone last April 8 then followed by a simultaneous activation in selected SM Malls nationwide- Mall of Asia, SM North Edsa, SM Megamall, SM Southmall, SM Fairview, SM City Cebu and SM City Davao. Shoppers with tablets and smartphones (using IOS and Android platforms) may then catch butterflies to win exciting prizes and discounts.
